A lazy day today in Millers Falls fellowshipping with Bob and Kim Davis. Bob took us out for a little sight-seeing. Marianne felt most disoriented, especially as we passed through Sunderland (above)! We drove to the top of Sugar Loaf Mountain (less than 700 feet). The view would have been magnificent if it hadn’t been so hazy.
In the evening I had been asked to speak to the First Congregational Church (there isn’t a second!) about George Whitefield. How does one summarize Whitefield’s life in 40 minutes? Well I couldn’t. So I took 45! And I found myself preaching at the end, urging people to love like Whitefield and to be as passionate about the Gospel as he was (but without getting up at 4am every day).
